About Paul
Paul Stroup specializes in financial restructurings, operational turnarounds and capital markets transactions. Mr. Stroup has experience providing financial advisory services in engagements involving troubled situations, strategic evaluation and implementation, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate finance transactions. He has industry experience in consumer and retail, education, healthcare, industrials, manufacturing, media, restaurants and telecommunications.
Mr. Stroup has provided restructuring advisory and interim management services in both in- and out-of-court settings and has assisted financial sponsors, boards of directors, companies and creditors in developing, evaluating and executing strategic and financing alternatives. Additionally, he has prepared valuation, solvency and debt capacity analyses and has developed corporate business plans, 13-week cash flow forecasts, turnaround initiatives and restructuring proposals. Mr. Stroup also has experience conducting operational and financial due diligence, managing daily liquidity needs and implementing cost-cutting and operational improvements.
Mr. Stroup joined FTI Consulting with its acquisition of CDG Group. Prior to CDG Group, he worked in the Leveraged Finance and High Yield Capital Markets groups at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he focused on structuring, executing and originating transactions in the high-yield bond and leveraged loan markets.
Mr. Stroup holds a B.A. in economics from Davidson College, where he was awarded the William Holt Terry Scholar Fellowship for demonstrating exemplary leadership and personal integrity and for contributing to the school’s living and learning community.

Relevant Experience:
- Served as interim treasurer for a multibillion dollar telecommunications company; implemented new cash flow forecasting processes to monitor and report daily liquidity in order to support multiyear large-scale capital expenditures (“CapEx”) investments.
