Peter Werner

Peter Werner is a Managing Director in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment, based in Munich, Germany. Over the course of his career, Mr. Werner has lived and worked for nearly a decade in Brazil and the United States, leading complex, cross-border investigations with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. His investigative experience spans matters involving financial statement fraud, bribery and corruption, asset misappropriation and misreporting, among other issues.

Mr. Werner brings more than 13 years of experience in performing forensics and compliance services. He specializes in financial and forensic accounting investigations. His engagements include investigations for multinational public and private companies, funds, PE and law firms. Several of Mr. Werner’s assignments involved public prosecutors and regulators in Germany, Brazil and the United States.

In addition to his investigative work, Mr. Werner has led numerous anti-bribery and anti-corruption (“ABAC”) and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) compliance assessments for global organizations. These engagements have focused on identifying fraud and corruption risks, evaluating internal controls and addressing compliance gaps. He has been involved throughout all phases of these projects, including planning, execution, reporting and the development of remediation measures.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Werner spent more than a decade in the forensics practices of two Big Four firms. He began his career as an auditor and tax advisor.

Mr. Werner holds a M.Sc. in Business Administration & Economic Education, with a major in Accounting and Economics as well as an Executive M.B.A degree.
