About Russ
Russ Kelley brings to FTI Consulting more than 15 years of Capitol Hill experience, where he served in leadership and committee senior staff roles. He has extensive experience developing and negotiating legislative proposals, planning and executing strategic initiatives, and counting votes. Mr. Kelley is a trusted advisor and advocate on a range of critical issues including clean energy, sustainability, chemicals management, industrial policy, aviation, surface and maritime transportation, and infrastructure.
Mr. Kelley was the chief leadership strategist and floor director for House Democratic Caucus Vice Chair Linda T. Sánchez. Prior to that, he was the full-committee counsel to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure where he advised Chairman Peter DeFazio and committee members on House and committee rules and procedure.
Mr. Kelley was a lead negotiator for the committee on the FAST Act, FAA reauthorization, expansion of the Surface Transportation Board, pipeline safety legislation, Coast Guard reauthorization, and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Mr. Kelley began his career on Capitol Hill as a communications advisor to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as well as Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Kelley was the Director of Federal Affairs for the American Chemistry Council and was their lead Democratic lobbyist.
