About Sam
Sam Russell is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Restructuring Practice, specialising in advising lenders and listed UK corporates through complex balance sheet refinancing and restructuring situations.
Sam’s extensive financial advisory experience includes stakeholder management, business plan reviews, capital structure modelling, short-term cash flow assessments, options analysis and the implementation of UK Restructuring Plans.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Sam spent 11 years at PwC. His extensive experience within the restructuring market has seen him support an international client base across a broad range of sectors, including mining, higher education, oil and gas, healthcare and retail.
Sam holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Exeter and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Relevant Experience:
- Advised the senior lenders on restructuring the Project Finance debt of an $8 billion African nickel mine
- Advised a syndicate of lenders through multiple restructurings of a UK university
- Advised a lending syndicate through the restructure of a specialist healthcare provider
- Financial advisor to the management team of a UK-listed aviation services provider during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Financial advisor to an international lending group of multiple Turkish public-private partnership hospitals
