About Sarah
Sarah Hammond is a Managing Director in the Healthcare Risk Management & Advisory practice at FTI Consulting, and is based in Oregon. Ms. Hammond has been assisting clients in investigations and regulatory disputes in the United States and Europe for more than 14 years. Her clients and related parties have included hospital systems, post-acute providers, medical equipment suppliers, pharmaceutical companies, payers, private equity firms and their counsel. She has extensive experience working with complex data sets, performing large volume transaction-based analytics for litigation and investigation matters.
In key matters, Ms. Hammond has provided a range of assistance for her clients. As part of a national healthcare provider’s dispute with the government over inappropriate rehabilitation facility admissions, she performed a medical necessity claims review which included the analysis of client data, sampling, review process development and management as well as extrapolation of results. She has also assisted a national retail pharmacy in investigations in regard to overbilling state Medicaid agencies and compliance with Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) regulations. In this case, Ms. Hammond analyzed transactional data, created relevant analyses and summary models for use in disclosing the client’s exposure to the relevant outside parties and developed processes to monitor these issues going forward.
Ms. Hammond’s experience includes working with clients in matters involving investigations, disputes, internal and regulatory compliance issues, and false claim allegations. In many of these matters, her work involves the design of complex data modeling, benchmarking, sampling and extrapolations. She also has experience leading coding and clinician teams in large-scale medical record reviews.
Ms. Hammond spent three years working with the specialty data analytics sub-practice in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment at FTI Consulting in the United Kingdom. There she worked on a variety of matters for clients including financial institutions, insurance companies, gambling companies and others.
Ms. Hammond holds a B.B.A. in Finance and International Relations from the College of William and Mary and an M.B.A. from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.

- Leading medical claim reviews as part of investigations, self-disclosures and Independent Review Organization (“IRO”) matters
- Working with counsel on qui tam lawsuits, government investigations and false claims allegations to resolve disputes
