Scott Margolis

Scott Margolis is a data governance expert with more than two decades of experience developing innovative strategies and solutions for firms to address complex issues. Mr. Margolis supports client executives, including chief officers of data, compliance, privacy and information, with building scalable global governance programs and enabling the supporting technology capabilities. His expertise spans compliance and risk, defensible disposition, data stewardship and valuation and monetization of data.

Mr. Margolis’s experience includes deep industry background in financial services, transportation, logistics and the energy complex. He works closely with clients to develop programs that simultaneously enhance data operations and derive value, reduce risk and support compliance activities. His approach focuses on delivering holistic programs that drive business growth in the face of complex challenges.

Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Margolis was Managing Director of data governance, privacy compliance and technology enablement at EY for more than five years. He also oversaw financial services security and data compliance at PwC and was previously Senior Vice President, Compliance Executive at Bank of America.

Mr. Margolis has two U.S. patents for processes and technologies supporting cross-border data transfers. He also holds numerous copyrights for bespoke software he has developed. He is an adjunct professor for data analytics and business intelligence in the MBA program at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
