Sean O’Reilly

Sean J. O’Reilly is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting. Mr. O’Reilly focuses on healthcare compliance, risk management, regulatory oversight and opportunities to leverage advanced technologies across the healthcare, insurance and legal services industries. Mr. O’Reilly advises on compliance oversight of insurance and clinical programs, leveraging advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to identify and mitigate risk while supporting value-based care and operational integrity.

Mr. O’Reilly is an experienced healthcare executive and licensed attorney with a background in litigation management, mergers and acquisitions and healthcare investigations. He has led compliance programs serving complex operations in Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, employer group medical and specialty insurance, military healthcare, hospice and home health, value-based primary care and pharmacy benefit management. His work integrates privacy, ethics and technology-driven risk analysis to strengthen compliance culture and enable strategic growth.

Before assuming his current role, Mr. O’Reilly served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Humana, where he implemented risk identification and remediation process improvements across Medicare Advantage operations, resulting in improved results in key federal and state audits and exams. He also led the development of audit tools leveraging advanced data analytics and natural language processing to improve efficiency and effectiveness of oversight of key risks. One of his projects was awarded Humana’s Amplify Award, the CEO’s highest recognition, for cost savings and improved effectiveness and was featured at Google’s developer conference. He regularly advised Humana’s Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors on compliance risks, and he regularly spoke with state and federal regulators on compliance strategies and techniques.

Mr. O’Reilly also practiced as a medical malpractice and healthcare regulatory attorney representing corporate clients in tort-based civil actions and state and federal regulatory matters. He holds a J.D. from the University of Loyola Chicago College of Law and dual B.A. degrees in Government and Spanish from the University of Notre Dame. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois.

Mr. O’Reilly serves on several boards and advisory groups, including Better Trucks, Foundry Investment Holdings and Fuz Global Logistics, and he previously advised Kindred at Home.
