Sergio Vélez

Sergio Vélez is a Senior Managing Director and leads FTI Consulting in Spain, as well as the Corporate Finance segment in Spain and the Interim Management/CRO services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Sergio specialises in special situations, restructuring, loan-to-own strategies and interim management. He advises investors and lenders in all aspects of the investment process, including pre-transaction, structuring, post-acquisition and portfolio governance.

Sergio has more than 25 years of business and restructuring experience in Europe and Latin America. He has advised multinational and domestic clients on interim management, operations, transactions and corporate finance, including turnarounds, transformation, cash management, cost reduction, forecasting and debt financial advisory.

Sergio has covered a wide variety of business sectors, including industrials, steel, automotive, distribution, food, real estate, transportation, leisure, manufacturing and renewable energy. Sergio also serves as a board member for and advisor to various companies in Spain, including public companies. In 2023, he assumed the position of president and CEO of Armas Trasmediterránea Group. He also served as interim CEO of Celsa Group and Grupo Gallardo and as a board member for several companies.

Sergio developed his professional career in various jurisdictions, including Spain, Italy and Latin America, holding different management and finance positions in various multinationals and at Alvarez & Marsal. Sergio holds a B.A. in Business and Economics from CEU University Madrid and an M.B.A. from Instituto de Empresa of Madrid. He is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian and has a working knowledge of French.
