About Shamil
Shamil Malde has more than 10 years of experience providing restructuring and insolvency advice to corporates, lenders and funds in challenging, often distressed, situations.
Shamil’s experience includes financial restructuring and stakeholder management, options analysis, short-term liquidity assessments, distressed M&A, debt advisory and contingency planning. His work also includes leading Entity Priority Model (‘EPM’) analysis in respect of complex international groups on the comparator or relevant alternative in support of schemes of arrangement or restructuring plans.
Shamil has advised stakeholders across a number of sectors, including retail, real estate, financial services, healthcare, construction and shipping.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Shamil worked at both Lazard and PwC. He qualified in the restructuring and insolvency practice, where he gained a broad experience of turnarounds, financial restructurings and insolvencies (trading and non-trading). He subsequently worked in M&A and debt advisory before returning to restructuring and insolvency.
Shamil is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner.
Relevant Experience:
- Advised the Board and Company of Spring Fibre; subsequently appointed joint administrator to undertake a pre-packaged sale
- Advised on contingency planning, cashflow review and options on behalf of the Board and Company of LumiraDx; followed by pre-packaged administration sale of various subsidiaries of the Group
- Provided financial restructuring advisory to the unitranche lender of a care home group in Germany on the provision of new money and options to take control
- Provided company-side advisory on insolvency outcome analysis for a defined counterfactual to assist negotiations for a proposed Spanish restructuring plan
