Steve Gilhooley

Steve Gilhooley is a Senior Director in the Constructions Solutions practice at FTI Consulting, providing a range of pre and post-contract consulting services to clients, much of it directly performed at the fabrication/construction site. He has served on large construction claims supporting the appointed “expert” and informing legal counsel on estimating/valuation methodologies and contractual entitlement, specializing in the forensic analysis of projects in, or near, litigation.

Mr. Gilhooley has worked exclusively in the U.S.A. since 2010 having gained extensive overseas experience living and working in the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, UAE, Philippines and Australia.

Mr. Gilhooley has more than 30 years of cost and contract management consulting experience on large and complex construction projects, from inception to contractual completion and beyond. Much of this work has been carried out directly at the fabrication/construction site.

Mr. Gilhooley has gained extensive experience delivering value to clients in all sectors of heavy industrial fabrication, construction and maintenance, including onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities; pipelines; shipbuilding; power generation; and, infrastructure projects.

Mr. Gilhooley’s key skills include leadership, team and office management; quantity surveying; cost engineering; conceptual and detailed estimating; contracting and procurement advice; contract management; pursuit and defense of construction claims; forensic cost/quantity analysis; change management; cost and schedule assurance; quantitative risk analysis; and, project and procedural audits.
