Thomas Deryckere

Thomas Deryckere is a Senior Managing Director based in Brussels. Thomas has more than 20 years of advisory experience.

Thomas has led many large restructuring and refinancing deals in the Belgian and broader Benelux market, in addition to international projects, often with a Benelux angle. His core focus is acting as a trusted advisor to companies, lenders and other stakeholders in complex multi-stakeholder restructuring and refinancing situations. Furthermore, he also has extensive experience in distressed M&A transactions, as well as cash flow planning, business plan support and reviews in restructuring/refinancing transactions.

In his role, Thomas works closely with FTI Consulting’s restructuring teams in Amsterdam, London and Paris, and more broadly across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Thomas led the restructuring team for PwC in Belgium.

Relevant Experience:

• Lender-appointed advisory services to the senior creditors of an international retail group during its debt restructuring conversations, including liquidity review, business plan review and financial advisory services
• Business plan review and lender financial advisory of a large family-owned automotive company at the request of the lenders, which led to additional support by the lenders
• Chief restructuring officer of a pan-European retail group to help develop a turnaround plan to be put in effect through a court-mandated pre-pack restructuring process
