Thomas Deryckere

Thomas Deryckere is a Managing Director based in Brussels, responsible for FTI Consulting’s restructuring offering for the Belgian market. Thomas has more than 12 years of advisory experience in restructuring and refinancing.

Thomas has led many large restructuring and refinancing deals in the Belgian market, in addition to international projects, often with a Belgian angle. His core focus is advising companies, lenders and other stakeholders in a distressed context. Furthermore, he also has extensive experience in distressed corporate finance projects and the financial analysis related to this, as well as cash flow planning, business plan support and reviews in restructuring/refinancing and M&A transactions.

In his role, Thomas works closely with the restructuring teams for FTI Consulting in Amsterdam, London and Paris, and more broadly across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to this, Thomas led the restructuring team for PwC in Belgium.

Relevant Experience:

• Business plan review of a large family-owned automotive company at the request of the lenders, which led to additional support by the lenders
• Financial and operational restructuring of a private equity-owned business in building materials, involving end-to-end refinancing support from cash flow planning, standstill negotiation with the lenders, turnaround plan support, insolvency support of a German group entity and ultimately Group debt refinancing
• Distressed M&A advisory for a Belgian investment fund for the purpose of its acquisition of a distressed French-based print media company
