About Tom
Tom Anapolis has more than 40 years of experience managing and improving programs, successfully directing day-to-day operations, developing and implementing meaningful policies and providing advocacy in both the public and private sectors. Tom’s core competencies include gaming, organizational management, process improvements, labor relations, regulatory oversight, contract negotiations, staff supervision and program management.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Tom served as the Director of the Division of Gaming for the New York State Gaming Commission. Under his supervision, the Division ensured regulatory compliance related to video lottery gaming, commercial casino facilities and sports wagering. Tom guided the Gaming Division’s successful and much-heralded launch of brick-and-mortar and mobile sports wagering. He was also responsible for the Division monitoring operators internal control compliance, responsible/underage gaming concerns and ensuring the integrity of New York’s gaming activities and patron protections.
Tom also served for more than 20 years at the New York State United Teachers (“NYSUT”), a labor union that represents more than 600,000 people who work for or are retired from New York’s schools, colleges and healthcare facilities. For the last four years of Tom’s career at NYSUT he served as the organizations Executive Director and Chief of Operations.
Tom possesses local government experience, having served for four years as the Deputy Mayor/Chief of Operations for the City of Schenectady, New York.
