Yvonne Plamondon

Yvonne Plamondon is a qualified insolvency practitioner with more than 16 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency. Originally from the UK, Yvonne has been based in the Cayman Islands since 2013. During that time, she has focused on providing restructuring advice and liquidation services to Cayman Islands domiciled investment funds and complex cross-border group structures. Yvonne is also experienced in digital forensics and fraud investigations, particularly within insolvency contexts.

Yvonne sits on the Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands’ chapter of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (“IWRIC”) and on the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (“INSOL”) International Webinar Series Committee. She is a regular speaker on insolvency and forensic focused webinars and live panel sessions.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Yvonne worked for a major international accounting firm in the UK and the Cayman Islands. She received her B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics and Accounting with honors from the University of Strathclyde.

Relevant Experience:

• Appointed as joint voluntary liquidator to five exempted limited partnerships in an investment fund structure that had suffered a significant loss of value; obtained five years of records, used forensic technology to analyse data and identified legal remedies to recover assets for investors; exposed and documented a complex fraud spanning multiple jurisdictions
• Managed the controllership and liquidation of an insurance company facing several different legal claims in the United States; obtained Chapter 15 recognition and agreed a series of complex settlements to bring the liquidation to a close
• Managed the voluntary liquidation of an investment fund that had invested in geothermal energy-related assets in Germany; wound down the underlying group structure, sold underlying assets while considering tax liabilities across multiple jurisdictions and oversaw litigation claims in Germany
• Managed the liquidation of an offshore bank in Dominica including pursuing the sale of vacant land and investigating and pursuing recovery of investments made by former management
