Chris Post is a Senior Managing Director in the Global Clean Energy practice, the Senior Lender practice and FTI Capital Advisors, FTI Consulting's investment banking subsidiary. Mr. Post’s expertise is in advising companies, creditors and equity sponsors in corporate restructurings, providing interim management, business plan development and review, valuation, solvency and liquidation analyses, distressed asset marketing and sales, vendor and cash management and the development and implementation of Plans of Reorganization. He brings more than 15 years of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, interim management and restructuring advisory experience across a range of industries.
Recent cases Mr. Post has been involved with include SolAero Technologies, Noble Environmental, Altamont Wind, Conergy, Abengoa/Abeinsa, LDK Solar, Relativity Media and Source Interlink. He has also held interim executive management positions on numerous occasions, most recently serving as Treasurer and Vice President of Finance for GenOn Energy, one of the largest independent power producers in North America.
Mr. Post is a licensed investment banker and has acted on both the sell-side and buy-side, providing advisory services to middle-market and corporate clients on strategic transactions. Recent mandates include advising Noble Environmental and MUFG Bank on the sale of a 114 megawatt (“MW”) wind farm in North Texas; advising Conergy, a global renewable energy developer, on the sale of 81 MW of solar projects in the eastern United States; and advising LDK Solar on the sale of 10 MW of projects located in Southern California. Mr. Post also advised the creditors’ committees in the U.S. bankruptcy proceedings for Abengoa Bioenergy and Abeinsa, in each case providing advisory services around the proposed sale of the debtors’ first and second generation bioenergy assets.
Mr. Post routinely leads operational and financial due diligence reviews on behalf of private equity and commercial banking clients, focusing on performance improvement, cost structure assessment and optimization, analysis of financial forecasts and synergy diligence.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Post spent over seven years in the Corporate and Investment Banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was a member of the bank’s large Corporate Debt Restructuring group.
Mr. Post holds a B.B.A. in finance and a B.A. in economics with honors from Southern Methodist University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
