About Chris
Chris Zohlen is a senior member of the Information Governance, Privacy & Security practice within FTI Technology. Mr. Zohlen brings more than 20 years of experience in information governance, data privacy and legal to help legal, records, privacy, information technology and information security departments identify, develop, evaluate and implement in-house privacy, e-discovery and data governance processes and programs. Relying on his background in applying technology to transform and solve business challenges, Mr. Zohlen also supports clients with addressing complex adtech privacy matters and pixel litigation.
Mr. Zohlen works with clients across industries including automotive, healthcare, media, entertainment and technology to create solutions that produce the largest return on investment while simultaneously reducing risk. He delivers a flexible approach, working in collaborative partnership across all types of engagements from targeted projects that address specific pain points, to highly complex, multiyear implementations. His technical expertise across the continuum of archiving, adtech and data solutions ensures clients are getting the most customized and effective solutions to meet their needs.
In his work with clients across the retail and healthcare industries, Mr. Zohlen has provided analysis, review and remediation recommendations for clients’ websites and use of pixels and ad tracking technologies. He has supported forensic collection, review and inventorying to support litigation claims in numerous matters involving these technologies.
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Zohlen was the Business Unit Executive for IBM’s Information Lifecycle Governance business. He was also the Vice President of PSS Systems’ Business Consulting practice and has held roles at Deloitte Consulting and Nuix. During his 25-year career, he has worked extensively in information and data management technology and software and consulted on issues involving legal hold, privacy, retention and defensible disposal.
Relevant Experience:
- Completed a global, privacy-based data map for a large building materials manufacturer leveraging OneTrust’s Privacy Management solutions; this included more than 500 applications and 1,200 business processes that affect personal information
- Worked with a large multinational automotive company to ensure its adherence to U.S. state data privacy laws; performed a detailed assessment using Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (“AICPA”) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (“NIST”) privacy management frameworks and provided full-time resources to help the client effectively implement the findings
- Led in-depth analysis to deliver a formalized and defensible workflow for a health care organization facing adtech litigation, covering five years and a complicated, non-centralized network of sites managed by multiple people
- Consulted with a $4 billion technology company regarding readiness for the General Data Protection Regulation, providing a maturity assessment, building the personal data inventory and offering remediation recommendations based on GDPR core principles
- Served as the information governance advisor for a privately held manufacturer for a Microsoft 365 records management initiative, building the requirements and selection process for the program and supporting technology solutions
