Clair Tosino is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Brentwood, TN.  He is in the Health Solutions practice. Mr. Tosino provides both consulting and interim executive operations and nursing management services to hospital and hospital system clients internationally and throughout the United States. His expertise includes interim operational/clinical management, physician relations and practice management, regulatory compliance, fiscal management, performance improvement and benchmarking, long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH) and teaching/education.

Mr. Tosino’s experience consists of providing interim system executive operations management for a three-hospital Northern California system. He conducted a productivity assessment and operational consolidation for a two-hospital system in Indiana resulting in the identification of 245 full-time equivalents (FTE) and $11.4 million in savings. Mr. Tosino conducted an operational productivity assessment of a university hospital and children’s hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey in preparation for bond offering which identified 198 FTEs generating approximately $10.9 million in labor savings. He also performed an operational and productivity assessment of a three hospital medical center in Atlanta, Georgia on the behalf of the bond holders to pressure test current cost cutting and labor savings initiatives to meet bond covenants in light of increasing competition and erosion of market share. Mr. Tosino provided assessment and recommendations for Catholic healthcare system in order to meet California Title 22 and identified an additional 37 FTE opportunities for reduction. He was also a member of a project team that conducted a due diligence Merger Efficiency (ME) Study (Business Case and Antitrust Efficiencies Analyses) on behalf of two hospitals located in Rockford, IL. That study was to be the basis for filing to the Department of Justice.

Mr. Tosino has more than 30 years of experience in operations and nursing management and has held the following positions: interim system chief operating officer, Alameda County Medical Centers, Oakland, California; chief operating officer, Kindred Hospitals Ft. Worth - Mansfield, Ft. Worth, Texas; chief operating officer, Emirates Palomar Medical Technology Services, Dubai, UAE; chief patient care officer, Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus, Ohio; assistant professor, nursing, Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.

Mr. Tosino holds a M.S.A. in hospital administration from Central Michigan University and a B.S. in nursing from Ohio State University. He is a critical care registered nurse alumnus (CCRN) and simultaneously held a registered nurse certification in child and maternal nursing (RNC), he was inducted into the Riverside School of Nursing Honorary Society at Ohio Wesleyan University.
