Dale Belt specializes in finance. Mr. Belt has more than 35 years of experience serving on executive management teams in various capacities and advising on financial restructurings and improvement initiatives. He has industry expertise in manufacturing, wholesale distribution, healthcare, restaurant, third-party medical claims administration, retail loss prevention service and automotive parts remanufacturing.
Mr. Belt has experience providing advisory services that have included the development and implementation of turnaround plans, development and review of business plans including the strategic realignment of business units, assistance with selling business units and due diligence, development and implementation of forecasting and cash management, operational and financial reporting, debt restructuring, and negotiations with parties in interest.
Mr. Belt 's recent experience is assisting clients with their financial reporting processes and bringing monthly reporting current. He also implemented a 13-week cash forecasting process to manage cash and liquidity, hired and trained a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to transition key functions to and created and implemented an updated financial planning and budgeting process. He also assisted with designing a new model to track financial covenants for a modified credit agreement.
Before that, Mr. Belt served as the Chief Financial Officer for a publicly traded international food ingredients manufacturer with a significant subsidiary located in Brazil. There, he led an overhaul of its SEC reporting obligations, which were delinquent by two years, hired new staff, successfully completed multiple complex senior refinancings involving derivative warrants and assisted with raising new equity. The company applied for and successfully up-listed on the NASDAQ Capital Market during this time and bought and sold a subsidiary business unit.
Additional examples of Mr. Belt’s experience include serving as interim management to a building materials distributor that fell victim to the real estate downturn. Mr. Belt effectively served as the Receiver, representing the secured lender’s interests and directly overseeing all financial and operational functions of the business with an emphasis on cash flow issues.
Prior to returning to FTI Consulting, Mr. Belt served in senior management roles, such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, at various privately held enterprises over a 22-year span. He began his career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
