Dustin Olver is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Calgary, Alberta. He is a member of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.
Mr. Olver has a wide range of experience working in professional practice focusing on corporate restructuring as well as working in diversified public oilfield services and trucking/logistics. He has worked for and with large and small public and private companies in a variety of industries, including oil and gas exploration and production, oil field services, transportation and logistics and real estate.
Mr. Olver’s recent restructuring engagements include working on the Chief Restructuring Officer engagement of Tuscany International Drilling Inc., a provider of contract drilling and work-over services to the oil and gas industry in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Africa. This engagement included liquidity management, forecasting, reviewing and approving drilling contracts and capital expenditures programs, reporting to stakeholder groups (cash flows and operations), developing and executing a restructuring plan including the packaging and sale of certain divisions/assets, negotiating additional financing and navigating through a cross border Chapter 11/CCAA filing. Mr. Olver also acted as the Court appointed receiver for Pacer Promec Energy Corporation, an oil field services construction company working on the Horizon oilsands project; Twin Butte Energy Ltd., Solara Exploration Ltd., Argosy Energy Inc. and Action Energy Inc., all publicly traded oil and gas exploration and production companies with operations in Alberta and Saskatchewan; and Cerpro Energy Services Ltd., a private oil field services and pipeline construction company.
In addition, Mr. Olver was the Monitor in the CCAA proceedings of Clayton Construction Group, a construction company with operations throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, and for various large oil and gas exploration and production companies, including Argent Energy Trust, Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. and Lightstream Resources Ltd., who had over a billion dollars of debt upon entering CCAA. Mr. Olver also has acted as financial advisor to senior debt holders including banks and noteholders with large positions in various publicly traded oil and gas companies.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Olver was a Manager in the Transactions and Advisory Services group at Ernst & Young and more recently worked in the Finance department of Mullen Group Ltd., a large public oilfield service and transportation/logistics company with operations across Canada.
Mr. Olver holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. He holds a Chartered Accountants Designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
