Gregg Erickson is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Tampa. He is part of the Health Solutions segment. Mr. Erickson has over 20 years experience in healthcare specializing in revenue cycle, process improvement, financial modeling and project management. Mr. Erickson has worked with multiple healthcare organizations including academic medical centers, non-profit integrated health systems, national for-profit hospital chains, children’s hospitals and long term acute care (LTAC) facilities.

On the transaction advisory services side, Mr. Erickson has served as revenue cycle advisor across strategic advisory and venture capital clients. Representative clients include acute care hospitals, urgent care clinics, lab services, dental practice management, eye clinic operations, outsourced staffing, group physician practices and healthcare related technologies.

Mr. Erickson has managed multiple revenue cycle redesign projects for large hospital systems, academic medical centers and community-based hospitals in both for profit and non-profit settings. His revenue cycle experience is comprehensive including workflow optimization, accounts receivable strategy, patient access redesign, business office consolidation, denial management, vendor management, strategic pricing and system implementation.

In addition, Mr. Erickson’s experience includes leading a revenue transformation engagement, focused on overall Epic optimization. The working included workflow redesign across patient access, care coordination, billing, follow-up and denial management. Through these operational improvement efforts and the complete redesign of Epic denial and follow-up workflows, the project resulted in annualized income statement improvement of over $40 million.

Finally, Mr. Erickson also served as the site lead for the launch of a regional business office across five hospitals for a national hospital system. This included the conversion of two facilities over to a new patient accounting platform as part of the consolidation. Mr. Erickson established and facilitated the implementation plan across labor budgeting, information technology, finance and facilities planning to bring the new business office up on-line while minimizing disruption to the overall collection cycle. Through Mr. Erickson’s support, all facilities successfully transitioned over to the regional business office within a three month period.

Mr. Erickson holds a M.S. in Health Systems Engineering and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
