Jason Allen specializes in revenue growth and operations. Mr. Allen has over 25 years of experience in various leadership positions in sales, operations and engineering in both Fortune 500 and private equity portfolio companies. He has industry experience in electronics, packaging, chemicals, apparel, food and beverage, professional services, building products and after-market auto, and extensive international experience, including Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Mr. Allen has expertise in revenue enhancement, supply chain and cost optimization, and specializes in sales force effectiveness, sourcing and procurement, and commercial and operational due diligence.
In regard to sales and marketing, Mr. Allen recently developed a go-to-market strategy and sales coverage model for a leading pool chemicals brand, where he conducted market sizing, profitability analysis, territory design and summarized best practices in a sales playbook. He also led a sales and marketing improvement project for a private equity-owned $1 billion tax preparation business, where he implemented a best practices across company-owned and franchise stores.
Mr. Allen’s performance improvement experience includes conducting a five-year business plan review for a leading auto club, where he evaluated outsourcing opportunities, the viability of new business ventures and profitability of key service offerings. He conducted a bottoms-up supply chain organization design for a global, $4 billion chemicals company and executed a sourcing project for a $2 billion entertainment business, resulting in over $15 million in savings. Mr. Allen also led profitability improvement projects for a $350 million industrial fibers manufacturer, where he identified and captured $5 million of EBITDA improvements and a $500 million flooring distributor, where he identified and captured $13 million of EBITDA improvements.
Regarding stand-ups and carve-outs, Mr. Allen stood up a pick and pack distribution center for a leading footwear brand, where he was responsible for the layout, deployment of a warehouse management software, staffing, sourcing, training and customer management. The company was able to ship 95% of orders “same day” by the third week of operations. He also served as the PMO for the carve-out of a $500 million ethanol business, where he led the TSA negotiations, stand-up of the finance function and implementation of over 20 third-party services.
Mr. Allen has additionally conducted over 20 buy- and sell-side operational due diligence assessments across a variety of industries, including distribution, bakery, after-market auto, packaging and apparel.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Allen was a part of the Performance Improvement practice at Alvarez & Marsal. He served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Elstat Electronics, a global supplier of smart energy controls in Europe, China and Latin America. He also served as the National Sales Manager at Mars Electronics, a division of Mars, Inc., a hardware and software solutions provider for the food service industry. Additionally, Mr. Allen served as the Senior Engineer and Global Program Manager at The Coca-Cola Company, where he was responsible for developing sales and marketing equipment for emerging markets. Mr. Allen started his career as an Army Engineer Officer and is a veteran, having served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was the Commanding Officer of a 140-person combat engineer company.
