Jigar Thakkar is a Managing Director in the Health Solutions segment focusing on Operational Effectiveness, where he specializes in implementing best practice pharmacy models. He has experience in pharmacy supply chain management, pharmacy productivity, and pharmacy related regulatory and accreditation compliance. His experience in Pharmacy includes strategic planning, design, operations, and improvement of an organization’s medication management system.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, he was a Manager in the Performance Improvement segment within Huron Consulting Group’s Healthcare practice. Prior to Huron, he was the Regional Director of Pharmacy at Presence Health. He has extensive experience in leading hospital inpatient pharmacy departments inclusive of clinical, operational, accreditation and 340B compliance, as well as pharmacy business development. With prior training completed at EPIC Systems headquarters, he has a deep understanding of leveraging Information Technology and the EMR system, to hardwire clinical pharmacy initiatives.
Some of his experiences include improving the pharmacy supply chain processes at a 375-bed teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center that resulted in over $1 million in annual savings with improved contracting and resource management. Previously, he established a retail pharmacy within a medical group that lead to over $15M in revenues per year for the group, as well as decreasing the turn-around time for specialty pharmacy treatment starts for the group’s hem/onc patients.
He holds a PharmD from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy and is a registered pharmacist. He is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP), Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacy (ICHP), and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He also serves as an advisory board member at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy and Roosevelt University’s College of Pharmacy.
He is currently pursuing an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
