Lee Baker is a planner, delay analyst and a Managing Director in the Construction Solutions Practice at FTI Consulting and is based Singapore. He has multiple appointments as an expert witness and has testified in the High Court of Singapore.
Lee has nearly 15 years’ industry experience and specialises in time-related matters and programme risk management. He has been appointed to prepare expert reports and regularly advises clients on dispute avoidance and resolution. Lee has extensive international experience of high value mega-projects, across a wide-range of industry sectors. These include power generation, aviation, rail, high-rise buildings; oil & gas; prestige retail; and commercial developments.
Lee's geographical experience includes projects located in: China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mozambique, Qatar, Republic of Ireland, Russia, SAR Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.
Lee's work with client’s lawyers has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal, who cited him as follows: “A ‘commercial, responsible expert who knows his stuff’, according to commentators, who call him ‘a pleasure to work with’. One interviewee states: ‘Lee persists in finding solutions to issues and has sound knowledge and good analytical skills, and is able to articulate his reasoning well in court.’”
Lee is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has published articles on planning risk and BIM implementation: “Project Finance: Construction risk”, published in Civil Engineering Surveyor magazine (The Journal of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors), September 2016; and “Building Virtually for Eternity: Contractual Considerations for the BIM Environment”, published in Who’s Who Legal, August 2017.
