Lori Hernandez is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Houston. Ms. Hernandez is in the Construction Solutions practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment. Ms. Hernandez is a seasoned Project Management professional with expertise in Project Controls, delivering mega capital construction projects in excess of $30bn USD.
Ms. Hernandez provides professional services related to project management and assurance, portfolio and risk management solutions, engineering and project data solutions, estimating and project controls, analytics and reporting, leading practices, and project systems and tools. Her experience spans multiple industries including Chemicals, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing, Mining, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Pharma, Retail and Utilities. Her knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of project execution, from initial concept selection to the transfer of operations, has allowed her to serve in multiple functional roles across projects and in project/program management and oversight.
In addition to construction projects, Ms. Hernandez has a strong technology background allowing her the opportunity to implement industry leading commercial software, as well as design, build, implement, and configure custom global solutions within Project Controls.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting Ms. Hernandez was a Manager with Accenture within their Capital Projects Services practice, working across the Chemicals and Natural Resources (“CNR”), Energy, and Utilities industries. She was also the Project Delivery Lead for multiple engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) firms domestically and internationally, onshore and offshore, and seconded to multinational oil companies to develop and implement strategies for early project scope definition to improve overall project accuracy and reduce project development costs through the project lifecycle.
Ms. Hernandez holds a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Houston and an Executive M.B.A from Imperial College London where she was awarded distinction for her dissertation – Oil Multinationals Adaptation of Risk Strategies to Mitigate Effects of Political Instability on Their Operations.
