Peter Heinz is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Dallas. He is a member of the Turnaround & Restructuring practice. Mr. Heinz has 12 years of professional experience, including more than eight years in the restructuring field. His restructuring experience includes both creditor and company-side engagements, primarily in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the power, consumer packaged goods, financial services, retail and gaming industries.
Mr. Heinz has worked on and led projects, including cash flow forecasting, business plan analysis, oil and gas reserve report diligence, enterprise valuations, financial statement analysis, liquidation analysis, derivative valuation and bankruptcy administration. In addition, Mr. Heinz has extensive experience managing both internal and external teams.
Mr. Heinz has represented a number of different creditor constituencies, including serving as the financial advisor for the secured lenders of Chaparral Energy and Sabine Oil and Gas, for the lenders of Pacific Exploration & Production and for the unsecured creditors of Energy XXI.
He also has represented a number of companies navigating the restructuring process, including ExGen Texas Power, RadioShack, Hostess Brands and TXCO Resources.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Heinz worked as a commercial banker at Hinsdale Bank & Trust, where he managed a portfolio of commercial real estate and commercial and industrial loans and underwrote new commercial loan requests for presentation to senior management. Before that, Mr. Heinz worked as an FP&A business manager for the Fixed Wing Division and Development programs at EFW Incorporated.
Mr. Heinz holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Texas Christian University and an M.B.A. in Financial Consulting and Finance from Southern Methodist University. He is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor and is an active participant in the local Dallas professional restructuring community, including acting as the Treasurer of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
