Samantha L. Salkin is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in New York. She provides domestic and international clients with expert consulting services in matters involving internal investigations, kickback schemes, embezzlement and OFAC/AML cases, design and implementation of compliance programs and investigative due diligence.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Salkin spent more than two years at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as an investigative analyst. Ms. Salkin analyzed information from a variety of evidentiary sources, including witness interviews, documents and records, as well as audiovisual material in homicides and other high-profile investigations within the Trial Division. She testified to her investigation and research methods in Grand Jury and Supreme Court proceedings. Over the course of her career as an investigative analyst, Ms. Salkin was named by District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. as a key member of the prosecution teams involved in the convictions of multiple violent offenders.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Salkin was a Child Protection Investigator for the Department of Children & Families for the State of Florida, where she responded to cases dealing with allegations of abuse, neglect and abandonment and determined the validity of these accusations.
Since leaving the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Salkin has focused on various multi-million-dollar construction fraud and grand larceny matters in the corporate environment, as well as OFAC/AML sanctions investigations and litigation support matters for law firms and multi-national organizations. She has also managed investigative due diligence projects, co-led several construction monitorships and handled various corporate fraud investigations.
Ms. Salkin is a graduate of the George Washington University where she received a B.A. in psychology and criminal justice, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received a M.S. in criminology.
