Gil Jones

Gil Jones is a member of the Human Capital practice, specializing in assisting clients globally with challenges related to executive compensation, workforce productivity and analytics, operating model design and labor cost forecasting.

Mr. Jones brings expertise in delivering tailored human capital solutions that create long-term, sustainable value to companies across multiple industries and six continents. He has partnered with clients as they navigate turnarounds, transformations, mergers, restructurings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Jones co-founded and served as a Managing Director at Strategy X Partners, a boutique human capital consultancy. He has also held positions at Seabury Consulting and United Airlines, where he provided analysis and recommendations targeted at improving flight crew safety, compliance, productivity and reliability.

Mr. Jones received a B.S. in Aviation Technology and an M.S. in Aerospace Management from Purdue University. He also holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate, CE525S type rating, and is a Certified Flight Instructor.

Relevant Experience:

• Designed and implemented numerous compensation plans, including key employee incentive and retention plans (“KEIPs” and “KERPs”), management incentive plans (“MIPs”) and transaction incentives
• Led the development of a new operating model for an African network carrier and its subsidiaries as part of a strategy to restore profitability; achieved approximately 20% in forecasted overhead savings while enabling the company’s short- and long-term goals
• Served as labor subject matter advisor and workstream lead on numerous private equity due diligence efforts for airlines, airport service providers and travel businesses
• Led an airport operations transformation at a South American network carrier to achieve cost savings while enhancing safety and reliability; managed workstreams to improve manpower planning, standardize turn processes, and optimize vendor strategy
