About Shaun
Shaun Rangappa is a physician leader with more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience. Dr. Rangappa is experienced in clinical practice, clinical process evaluation and improvement, governance, and change management. He specifically engages physicians, other clinicians and leaders navigating disruptive workflow or industry process changes.
Dr. Rangappa has actively supported clinical information system selections and implementations across multiple vendor platforms, in both the commercial and federal healthcare environments, with a focus on Epic, Cerner and Athena products. He also has experience providing strategic guidance and operational assistance for many clients, including strategies for physician adoption, engagement and retention. Additionally, he has assisted with the integration of hospital services across disparate physician groups, as well as with medical school curriculum development, graduate medical education (“GME”) program evaluation and physician leadership.
Dr. Rangappa’s recent focus areas include clinical collaboration via virtual health and telehealth, as well as the expansion of care access and provision using novel technologies such as AI.
- Served as Senior Physician Advisor to clinical leadership for a value-based care IT and process modernization program for senior care across 300 care sites nationwide
- Supported the set-up and execution of physician integration council activities in advance of a large health system merger
- Led a Congressionally mandated initiative for the Defense Health Agency to develop modular care delivery models and technologies capable of treating 1,000 injured service members per day for 100 days in a large-scale national emergency
- Directed the design and deployment of an innovative tele-critical care platform for remote critical care delivery during the Covid-19 emergency, integrating credentialing and reimbursement solutions to support rapid deployment
- Oversaw the execution of a national pilot program addressing interoperability challenges between military and civilian healthcare organizations across multiple regions
