The COVID-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented event across the globe. International and domestic travel bans and social distancing requirements have been implemented by governments which has forced businesses to adapt by changing their structure and operations.
With the aid of technology, "the new normal" consists of employees working from home (WFH), which has brought about new challenges, risks and rewards for data management and e-discovery obligations.
In this article for Conventus Law, Sandeep Jadav, Regional Lead, Technology Asia at FTI Consulting, shares his insights on how the process of collecting and reviewing electronically stored information (ESI) has had to evolve in response to COVID-19.
In Asia, geographical, political and linguistic complications have also made the traditional method of collecting data from various devices and platforms with "boots on the ground" more challenging than ever before. Vendors and lawyers must now count on technology solutions to ensure data collected remotely is forensically sound for increasingly larger and more complex cases.
