Juliette Fortin is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and heads the Paris Economic and Financial Consulting practice. Since 2006, she has specialised in valuation issues such as the quantification of damages claims in domestic and international commercial and investment disputes, accounting issues and post-transaction disputes. Juliette joined FTI Consulting in September 2010, having previously worked for at PwC in Paris (in Transaction Services from 1999 to 2006 then in Disputes from 2006 to 2010) and prior to that at PwC in London (in Audit from 1996 to 1999).
Juliette has assisted French and multinational companies and leading law firms, in various countries around the world including Africa, Eastern Europe, and Western Europe. Her experience covers many different industry sectors including mining, energy, distribution, services, hotel, construction, telecommunications and food.
In the context of international arbitration disputes, Juliette has been appointed as testifying expert in disputes before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and in independent expert procedures. She testified in CCI and ICSID international arbitration hearings.
Juliette is one of the experts in international arbitration listed on the 'Who’s Who Legal Arbitration – Expert Witnesses' list and on the 'Who’s Who Legal Arbitration – Construction Expert Witnesses'.She has also acted as expert at advocacy workshops organised by the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy (FIAA), which train lawyers to advocates in international arbitration proceedings, and at workshops organised by the CIArb and other various international law firms in Paris. She regularly takes part in panels to discuss damages and the role of expert, in international arbitration events.
Juliette has also conducted numerous post-acquisition litigation assignments, both in France and internationally. In the context of national disputes, she intervenes regularly as an expert in the context of litigation before the Commercial Courts, within the framework of judicial expertise, or in ad-hoc expertise. Juliette has also been involved in litigation before the Paris Arbitration and Mediation Center (CMAP).
Juliette is a graduate of CESEM, Reims Management School and ICADE, Madrid (1996). She is qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and as a French Expert-comptable and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Juliette is a Member of the Executive Board and Treasurer for ArbitralWomen.
