FTI Consulting Enhances Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services Practice with the Appointment of Four Experts
Washington, D.C., Sept. 23, 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Managing Directors Ann Marie Wick, Michael Buffardi, Maurice Crescenzi and David King to the Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services practice within the firm’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment

Ms. Wick, who will be based in Milwaukee, has more than 25 years of global compliance and internal and external audit experience. She has worked across the consumer products and manufacturing industries and specializes in anti-bribery, anti-corruption, economic trade sanctions, financial internal controls and board reporting. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Wick held executive compliance and internal audit positions at large- and medium-sized multinational companies. In these roles, she designed and led programs to ensure compliance with global anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation including, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Brazilian Clean Air Act and the UK Bribery Act.
Mr. Buffardi, who will be based in Los Angeles, specializes in anti-money laundering regulation and compliance, forensic investigations and sanctions. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Buffardi served as a Senior Attorney-Adviser in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“SEC”) Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. He was also a Senior Attorney-Adviser in the SEC’s Office of Enforcement, where he served as the lead investigative attorney for investigations resulting in two of the SEC’s largest 17a-8 penalties. Before that, he was a Special Adviser in the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
Mr. Crescenzi, who will be based in New York, is a former in-house compliance and ethics officer with more than 27 years of combined industry and consulting experience. He has conducted ethics and compliance work in more than 35 countries, across a variety of industries, including consumer and industrial products, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, sports, travel and entertainment, higher education, payroll services, retail, financial services and insurance. At FTI Consulting, he will work with clients on matters related to organizational governance, compliance, ethics, anti-corruption, and risk-management program evaluation, design, implementation and optimization.
Mr. King, who will be based in Houston, has led compliance reviews, regulatory inquiries, investigations and risk assessments for companies with global operations. He also has wide-ranging complex commercial litigation experience involving solvency, fraud, bribery and economic damages. Mr. King’s recent experience within the financial services industry includes engagements as the Independent Consultant in Consent Orders issued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He has also participated as the Independent Consultant in Consent Orders agreed to with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and has assisted financial institutions in examination and enforcement matters brought by those regulators and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Department of Justice.
