FTI Consulting Enhances Tax Advisory Service with Appointment of Senior Tax Technology Expert
Graham Tilbury Joins as Managing Director in London
London, 18 November 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that Graham Tilbury has joined as a Managing Director in the Tax Advisory practice in London within the firm’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, where he will lead a new Tax Technology Advisory Service offering.
Mr. Tilbury has significant experience working with businesses on a wide variety of tax technology projects. He has worked in consulting and industry in the UK and Europe and across all types of tax for more than 25 years, delivering solutions using a wide variety of custom and third-party software.
“Tax technology is of significant importance to our clients and one where they are looking for an expert consultant to provide independent and objective advice,” said Euan Sutherland, Head of Tax, EMEA. “Bringing Graham, an acknowledged industry expert, into our team to lead this new service line allows us to continue to help clients solve their most pressing tax related issues. His knowledge and experience are second to none, and I am delighted to welcome him to FTI Consulting.”
FTI Consulting provides corporate tax advisory services to multinational businesses ranging from tax compliance and transaction support to best practice process implementation and structuring. In the new world of digital taxation, authorities are collecting and analysing previously hidden details. Tax technology provides taxpayers the support they need to remain compliant, whilst also providing time efficiencies and enhanced reporting opportunities. The Tax Technology Advisory Services offering will enable FTI Consulting to provide end-to-end advice on the tax technology spectrum.
Richard Turner, a Senior Managing Director in London who leads the firm’s tax and innovation services, added, “Over the last few years the digitisation of tax authorities has accelerated significantly, including the introduction of Making Tax Digital in the UK as well as many VAT, e-invoicing and corporate tax e-filings in Europe and beyond. Being able to offer our clients the advice they need to respond to these regulatory changes is hugely important. However, it shouldn’t just be about the tax authorities. Tax technology will also allow our clients to improve their tax processes — reducing risk, increasing efficiency and providing greater control over tax data and processes.”
Mr. Tilbury joins FTI Consulting from Huawei Global Finance, where he provided internal tax technology solutions. He previously was Head of Tax Data Analytics for PwC in Switzerland, and prior to that was a Senior Solutions Consultant at Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting EMEA. He has previously worked for a number of other large accounting practices including Arthur Andersen.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Tilbury said, “Listening to clients’ problems and helping them to find solutions is what excites me about tax technology, and the people at FTI Consulting share that passion. They are experts who want to be hands-on, providing clients with the best possible solutions and the best possible service. I am very excited to join FTI Consulting and begin working with likeminded colleagues to deliver leading tax technology advice and solutions to our clients.”
