FTI Consulting Announces 2019 Senior Managing Director Promotions in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting Segment
WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 2, 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that 12 professionals have been promoted to Senior Managing Director within the firm’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment.
The promotions include Adam Berry, Kelly Bossard, Almira Cemmell, Garry Crossley, Alastair Farr, Greg Hallahan, Alok Khare, Maureen Kiedaisch, Tara Mulkeen, José Piñeiro, Ryan Pisarik and James Taylor.

Mr. Berry leads the Data & Analytics practice in New York City. He provides risk mitigation services, business intelligence and complex data analysis to numerous clients involved in antitrust matters, disputes, litigation, investigations, regulatory infractions and other critical challenges. He assists clients in identifying, gathering, understanding and analyzing key information and data pivotal to investigations. He has managed internal investigations globally and aided in both criminal and civil matters, providing clients with end-to-end support to mitigate risks, review trends and analyze patterns.
Mr. Bossard, based in Washington, D.C., has approximately 25 years of experience in auditing, accounting, litigation consulting, forensic accounting, and as a regulator. He spent five years as a staff member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (“PCAOB”) Division of Enforcement and Investigations. While at the PCAOB, he served as the primary accountant on numerous enforcement actions regarding both large and small public accounting firms and their associated persons. His current practice at FTI Consulting is focused on litigation consulting matters involving audit and accounting issues.
Ms. Cemmell, based in London, leads the Global Risk & Investigations Practice in Europe and Africa. She manages a variety of pre-transactional due diligence projects, arbitration support and dispute resolution cases. The pre-transactional investigations typically revolve around political, regulatory or integrity risk management, establishing the wider context surrounding transactional matters and allowing the transaction teams to avoid and better manage potential investment risks. Ms. Cemmell and her team regularly work on establishing strategies for arbitration and litigation cases, as well as supporting legal teams on delivering these strategies successfully. Additionally, she and her team work extensively on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), UK Bribery Act (“UKBA”) and anti-money laundering-related investigations either on behalf of regulators or assisting corporates in response to regulatory requirements.
Mr. Crossley, based in Singapore, advises clients internationally on project delivery, strategic issues, contractual risks, contract strategy and due diligence. He has over 30 years’ experience in the building and construction, infrastructure, transportation, utilities, oil and gas, petrochemicals and aerospace sectors throughout Asia, the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe and Africa. Mr. Crossley’s experience includes assisting contractors and employers with the effective planning and management of complex projects throughout the pre-construction and construction phases. He also has extensive experience in the preparation and review of delay claims and determining the causes and effects of delay, disruption and acceleration. Mr. Crossley has been appointed on numerous international engineering and construction disputes, acting as an expert witness in international arbitration proceedings, and he has given evidence on many occasions.
Mr. Farr, based in London, has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry. He began his professional career with site-based quantity surveying and commercial management before progressing into claims and consultancy. Throughout his career, Mr. Farr has gained experience advising on issues at all stages of the construction process, from tender through to completion, and most methods of procurement, including traditional, engineering procurement and construction, lump sum, cost reimbursable and target cost, and specialist areas, including risk management, commercial management, project controls and insolvency. Mr. Farr has acted as an expert witness and delivered reports on matters of both quantum and delay.
Mr. Hallahan, based in Hong Kong, is experienced in leading and conducting a wide variety of business intelligence, due diligence and corporate investigations throughout Asia Pacific. These engagements have stretched across industry sectors, in particular financial services, mining and healthcare/pharmaceuticals. Mr. Hallahan has also conducted extensive know-your-supplier/know-your-customer assessments in many challenging environments and has prepared both corporate governance and compliance strategies to assist clients responding to UKBA, FCPA and People’s Republic of China regulations.
Dr. Khare, based in San Francisco, is an economist who specializes in the areas of securities and finance, econometrics and large data analytics, valuation and transfer pricing. He provides consulting services on complex economic and financial issues in legal disputes and other business matters. Dr. Khare has considerable experience with class actions (e.g., securities, antitrust, labor and employment, consumer fraud, etc.), transfer pricing-related disputes, Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) investigations, and other litigation and business disputes. He has designed and supervised analyses leading to successful rebuttal of class certification claims in matters alleging securities and consumer fraud. Dr. Khare also has substantial experience examining economic materiality, loss causation and damage claims in class actions and other litigations.
Ms. Kiedaisch, based in New York, has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry and focuses her practice in the financial services industry, providing clients with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/Sanctions and other regulatory compliance and operations-related services. She assists and advises clients in matters relating to governance, internal controls, and policy and procedure development. Ms. Kiedaisch has designed and implemented human resources and training initiatives. She has extensive experience in project management and directing consulting engagements. Ms. Kiedaisch has also conducted transactional and employee investigations pertaining to fraudulent or suspicious activity.
Ms. Mulkeen, based in New York, specializes in leading large-scale accounting investigations and post-acquisition disputes. She directs financial consulting services engagements, audit committee investigations and whistleblower investigations for clients involved in various types of fraud and forensic accounting matters. She has successfully assisted corporations in responding to SEC inquiries, investigating accounting issues and completing financial statement restatements. She has extensive experience advising audit committee members and legal counsel, conducting investigative interviews, and preparing expert reports. Ms. Mulkeen has also advised on contract dispute matters involving financial accounting and reporting issues and related auditing issues and has assisted both domestic and international clients in commercial disputes involving corporate transactions, working capital adjustments and earn-out calculations.
Mr. Piñeiro, based in Madrid, has been involved in forensic accounting and investigation cases and expert witness work, as well corporate finance and restructuring matters across a wide range of industries, clients and locations. He has led several projects related to forensic accounting, fraud investigations, hostile takeover bids and litigation support for private and public companies. He has also acted as an expert witness in local courts and international arbitration cases. In corporate finance and restructuring, Mr. Piñeiro has been involved in administrations, liquidations, independent business reviews and cash management projects involving different industries, including automotive, services, construction and healthcare, among others. He currently leads FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting practice in Spain.
Mr. Pisarik, based in Chicago, has spent the past 20 years conducting forensic accounting assignments, internal investigations, complex commercial litigation, and SEC, DOJ and other regulatory engagements involving publicly held and private companies in a wide variety of industries. In addition to vast forensic investigation experience, Mr. Pisarik has also been a regulatory-appointed Corporate Compliance Monitor and an Independent Compliance Expert related to resolution of anti-corruption, fraud and other regulatory issues. Mr. Pisarik frequently assists companies on developing and evaluating corporate compliance programs and undertaking risk assessments related to anti-corruption and fraud risks.
Mr. Taylor, based in Singapore, has extensive experience in providing commercial management and contract administration services, expert witness and expert advisor services and claims preparation and negotiation solutions within the construction industry. He has more than 27 years’ experience in contract administration services and quantity surveying for employers, contractors and governments in Asia and Europe. In addition, Mr. Taylor has been appointed as a quantum expert witness on numerous occasions, acting for both government and private clients in litigation in the High Court and in international arbitration.
