Data Management and E-discovery

The Data Management Group follows e-discovery industry best practices to assist the Environmental Solutions practice and its clients in resolving complex environmental and product liability disputes and alternative dispute resolution processes. The Group is integrated with FTI Consulting’s team of forensic historians and technical, accounting, geospatial, and data science professionals to provide FTI Consulting’s clients with a comprehensive approach to data management and project implementation.

How We Help

Our e-discovery professionals handle data in multiple online review platforms, including Ringtail and Relativity, and currently manage approximately 15 million records/30,000 gigabytes of data for the Environmental Solutions practice and its clients. In doing so, the Group oversees data imports, workflow development, and casebook organization, as well as the collection, consolidation, and identification of key data for FTI Consulting’s clients. Clients that leverage FTI Consulting’s data management and analytical capabilities decrease their document review times and costs.

Our clients also rely on us for intuitive, multi-user web-based platforms delivering spatially and temporally registered information, customized to meet the needs of attorneys rather than experts. Our systems have been developed for and used by hundreds of attorneys, their clients, and their consultants, on high-stakes environmental matters for the evaluation of claims exceeding $1 billion. APGIS (or Allocation Process Geographic Information System) and AEGIS (Advocacy Environment Geographic Information System) liberate complex environmental data from expert silos, and places it directly into the hands of counsel, allowing decision-makers to quickly pivot on legal strategy while also reducing the legal costs associated with outside environmental experts.
